Our company is looking for a Personal Care Aide (PCA) to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks assigned by the Supervisor;
  • getting in and out of bed;
  • skin care excluding wound care;
  • Report in writing, on agency forms, to the Supervisor on each client assignment;
  • other as outlined on service plan;
  • care of glasses and hearing aids;
  • teeth, mouth, denture and hair care;
  • toileting, including use and care of bedpan, urinal, commode, toilet;
  • accompanying the client to obtain medical diagnosis and treatment;
  • simple transfers, including bed to chair or wheelchair and reverse;
  • assistance with mobility and ambulation including use of walker, cane or crutches;
  • light cleaning in essential areas of the home during personal care activities;
  • Assist with dressing and undressing;
  • meal prep, food purchasing, meal serving;
  • Confer as required with the Supervisor regarding client’s progress.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English;
  • Must be honest, ethical, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others;
  • Must practice and promote Affinity Guidelines, Policies and Procedures, Mission Statement, Values and goals;
  • Must meet all health requirements;
  • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly and understand that for each resident the facility is considered the Resident’s home;
  • Exceptional organizational skills;
  • Be familiar with the Adult Care Home Residents’ Bill of Rights and be willing to assist residents in exercising their rights;
  • Up-to-date car insurance in your name, registration and valid Driver’s License;
  • Take pride in providing high quality care;
  • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards;
  • PCA certification; HHA certification, CNA license or at least one year of professional caregiving experience required;
  • Access to reliable transportation with a willingness to travel throughout the county;
  • High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver;
  • Current Negative TB Test;
  • Reliable transportation.
