Our company is looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) Per Diem to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required;
  • Teach Residents how to use physical therapy equipment;
  • Contribute to inter-disciplinary team efforts in resident care;
  • Evaluate a Resident’s condition and develop an appropriate physical rehabilitation plan;
  • Home Care Requirements: One or more years of clinical experience and a valid state Driver’s License;
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist required;
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements;
  • Help Residents to improve their mobility;
  • Help Residents through their tasks and monitor their performance;
  • Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants when required;
  • Maintain Resident confidence and protect facility operations by keeping information confidential;
  • Relieve Resident’s pain using exercises, hands-on therapy, stretching, and physical therapy devices;
  • Tell Residents what they should anticipate in different stages of their recovery and how they will handle each situation;
  • Protects Residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

Requirements:

  • CPR Certification;
  • Licensed as required by State;
  • Current BLS American Heart Association (AHA);
  • Prefer 3-5 years experience in a Skilled Nursing facility, LOC or other medical facility;
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors and the general public;
  • Graduate of an approved curriculum in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and/or Speech/Language Pathology;
  • Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing therapy practices;
  • Be knowledgeable in various computer programs, system applications, and other office equipment;
  • Must be licensed in accordance with state & federal laws and able to practice unencumbered;
  • Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required;

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist required;
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program;
  • Experience in skilled nursing/ long term care settings preferred;
  • Current New York State PT License.
