PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) RN (Registered Nurse) Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) RN (Registered Nurse) to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Meet the developmental and emotional needs of children in the pediatric ICU;
- Observe changes in patient’s conditions and report and alarming changes to the doctor on duty or pediatrician;
- Provide age appropriate care to children admitted into pediatric ICU;
- Maintain confidentiality in matters related to the patient, family and client facility staff;
- Consult with doctors and members of healthcare team to comprehend patient’s medical issues and implement care plans;
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate patient’s care to achieve patient goals and to optimize outcomes;
- Effectively advocate for ethical and holistic care to promote the autonomy, dignity, rights, values and beliefs of those we serve;
- Align practice with safety and quality. Be accountable for safety, identify and correct problems;
- Foster a learning environment for patient/families, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team including students.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 1-3 years PICU RN experience;
- Must have RN license in the State of California, or have the ability to obtain one;
- BSN preferred, but not required;
- Candidates must have successfully completed an accredited RN program;
- Must have BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association approved courses.
