Our company is looking for a Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Applying fluorides and other cavity preventing agents to prevent dental decay;
  • Charting conditions of dental decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by the dentist;
  • Cleaning calcareous deposits, accretions and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins with dental instruments;
  • Providing excellent customer service to all patients and visitors;
  • Complete a thorough assessment of the patient’s teeth, bone, and periodontal tissues, and document any abnormalities or suspected conditions;
  • Customize care to meet patient’s oral health;
  • Provide all care in conjunction with accepted professional dental practices and standards;
  • Aid the dentist with procedures and emergencies as needed;
  • Maintain patient confidentiality;
  • Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, flouride and sealants, and root planning;
  • Application of fluoride and protective sealants. Removal of calculus, stain and plaque from above and below the gum line;
  • Provides nutritional counseling, and self-care programs to prevent disease;
  • Provide superior patient care and service. Exhibit outstanding service and hospitality;
  • Chart conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist;
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a dental practice;
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate;
  • Dentrix software experience a plus;
  • Greets and prepares patients for treatment;
  • Ability to work between locations (Rockwall, TX and Paris, TX);
  • Overall working knowledge of general dentistry and dental hygiene procedures;
  • Completion of an accredited Dental Hygiene program;
  • Works chair-side with dentist during treatment whenever necessary;
  • Uses x-ray machines to take dental pictures, and sometimes develops the film;
  • Provides preliminary charting of all head and neck pathology;
  • Dental hygiene licensure qualifications compliant with the State Board of Dentistry, without any negative actions;
  • Accurately records all treatment rendered;
  • Experience using paperless medical technology;
  • Experience with Curve Hero software preferred.
