Registered Nurse – CVICU Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Registered Nurse – CVICU to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals;
- Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse;
- Performs a variety of tasks;
- Assesses and monitors various Critical patients and intervenes when appropriate;
- Acts as a patient Advocate. Relates courteously and appropriately to all internal and external customers;
- Maintains and enforces all Infection Control Standards;
- Assesses and collaborates with physicians regarding ventilator weaning. Maintains protocols and monitors patient during process;
- Communicates timely and effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team;
- Provides age and culturally appropriate care;
- Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs;
- Instructs and educates patients and families;
- Orients and mentors new staff members;
- Carries out physician orders;
- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems;
- Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requirements:
- An Associate Degree from an accredited school of Nursing;
- Current Pennsylvania RN licensure;
- Previous RN experience, preferred;
- Current BLS Certification.
