Our company is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses, plans and evaluates patient care needs including obtaining patient history and assessing for labor risk factors;
  • Carries out physician orders;
  • Instructs and educates patients and families;
  • Manages the patient’s pain including epidural and patient controlled analgesia administration management;
  • Cares for patients requiring fetal assessment/fetal monitoring;
  • Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems;
  • Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care;
  • Assists physician during delivery, treatment, examination and surgical procedures;
  • Administers prescribed medications and monitors vital signs;
  • Age specific admission and ongoing assessments are completed, documented and used to develop a plan of care.

Requirements:

  • BLS;
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program);
  • ACLS;
  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills;
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association;
  • Current licensure as an RN;
  • NRP Certification;
  • Minimum 1 year previous experience as a RN in Labor & Delivery preferred;
  • Experience in couplet care and postpartum care preferred / required;
  • Must have at least 2 years experience as a Registered Nurse;
  • Must have at least 2 years experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse;
  • Experience in antepartum and postpartum care;
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification or within 12 months of hiring;
  • NRP certification with in 12 weeks of employment;
  • Current AL RN license or a participating Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license.
