Our company is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides age and culturally appropriate care;
  • Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care;
  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the organization;
  • Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs;
  • Carries out physician orders;
  • Instructs and educates patients and families;
  • Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs;
  • Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems;
  • Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team;
  • Administering patients’ medications and providing treatments according to physicians’ orders;
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families;
  • Monitoring patients’ conditions and assessing their needs;
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients.

Requirements:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire;
  • Graduate of a school of Nursing. BSN preferred;
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States;
  • BLS issued through American Heart Association;
  • Current unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut;
  • RN license in state of practice;
  • 3 years of previous hospital experience;
  • Specialty certification (ex: CCRN, CNOR, CEN) preferred;
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program;
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state;
  • One or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse;
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required;
  • Additional certification or licensure may be required for some specialty areas.
