Rehab Aide Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Rehab Aide to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for treatment and assist the therapists and assistants as requested;
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and professional work area;
- Communicate accurate information in written or verbal format;
- Ensure patients are transported to and from the appropriate therapy department in a safe, appropriate, and timely manner;
- Assist in maintaining safe and properly functioning equipment;
- Assist rehab therapists with direct patient care;
- Maintain files of items purchased, checking in all items received;
- Informs department supervisor of needed supplies and assists with inventory control and ordering of supplies;
- Recommend purchases to maintain departmental functioning and efficiency;
- Participates in quality improvement programs;
- Prepare patient treatment areas and treatment materials;
- Perform all other duties as requested;
- Order equipment and material as needed for the department, monitor supplies, restock and maintain appropriate supply levels;
- Participate in staff meetings and in-services;
- Perform general maintenance activities to promote a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements:
- CNA certification required;
- Frequent patient handling and transferring over 100 pounds;
- Ability to communicate, comprehend, understand and write messages, and follow directions;
- Frequent bending, squatting, twisting and reaching;
- Sufficient verbal and written communication skills;
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Good telephone etiquette;
- Frequent repetitive pushing, pulling and grasping up to 50lbs, ocassional up to 100 pounds;
- Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – This is a weekend position only;
- Team player with a great attitude and a passion for good customer service;
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent;
- Ability to perform mental, physical and emotional requirements of the job;
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients, families, and coworkers;
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
