RN Nurse Supervisor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a RN Nurse Supervisor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Opens and leads incident command for internal or external disasters until relieved by assigned administrative representative;
- Provides support and coordination for patient emergencies;
- Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes;
- May provide input for hiring, training, directing, developing and evaluating staff;
- Responds to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels;
- Assigns, directs, educates and monitors nursing and support staff during assigned shift. Contributes to or performs performance evaluations of staff;
- Manages patient flow within assigned area;
- Responsible for the safe and efficient management of a long-term care patient area and/or nursing department shift;
- Assure that effective quality nursing care is delivered which is outcome focused through utilization of the nursing process;
- Complies with current federal, state, and local regulations governing nursing care in the execution of assigned duties;
- Provides emotional support to patients and their families;
- Plans and directs the activities of assigned staff and oversees the execution of quality patient care;
- Work in collaboration with physician and/or other health care professionals by sharing information relevant to changing plan of care;
- Takes and records resident vital signs and collects laboratory specimens as directed;
- Deliver and maintain optimum resident care and comfort by demonstrating knowledge and skills of current nursing practices.
Requirements:
- BSN or currently enrolled in BSN program required;
- CRRN certification required (once eligible);
- Current and valid state licensure as a Registered Nurse required;
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing is required;
- Certified ACLS or completion in first 6 months of employment required;
- Experience id preferred;
- BLS required prior to start date;
- Three or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse; one or more years experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity is preferred;
- Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing.
