RN – Surgery Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a RN – Surgery to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned;
- Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure;
- Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning;
- Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use;
- Communicates effectively with patients to assess their knowledge of surgical/invasive procedure(s) and expectations. Adheres to universal protocol;
- Correctly and efficiently administers medications, treatments, and nursing interventions as per hospital policy;
- Educates the patient, family, and significant other(s) about measures that promote, maintain, and restore health or promote comfort.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills. Certification in EKG and CNOR preferred;
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California;
- Minimum of three years recent experience in Circulator Role in OR or minimum 3 years in an OR for a designated Trauma Center.
