Our company is looking for a Surgical Technologist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field;
  • Follow all federal, state and departmental safety procedures;
  • Duties may also include functioning in the OR core and turning over rooms;
  • This is a 1.0 FTE NIGHT shift position (10 hour shifts);
  • Prepares equipment, supply and resource needs based on an individualized plan of care.? Re-evaluates and modifies resource needs as needed;
  • Facilitates room turnover time;
  • Performs treatments per protocols;
  • Demonstrates competence in problem solving, conflict resolution, and team building.? Serves as a resource to other team members;
  • Assists in preparing and moving patients and in cleaning the operating theater;
  • Participation in team meetings;
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required;
  • Operates sterilizers as assigned and provides quality control documentation;
  • Performs a variety of tasks;
  • Demonstrates knowledge of equipment, instruments, supplies, and procedures;
  • On-call Rotation is required.

Requirements:

  • BLS certified;
  • Employed as a Surgical Technologist for eighteen months minimum;
  • High school graduate or equivalent;
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field;
  • Knowledge of CVOR instrumentation as it relates to specific cardiac surgical procedures and other procedures as needed;
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology program ( some staff grandfathered due to change in this requirement );
  • Must have good interpersonal skills (talking, listening, patience, judgment, initiative, ability to relate with others);
  • Current BLS Certification;
  • CABG and cardiac procedures;
  • Current CPR or within 30 days of employment;
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow exact protocols;
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or 3 years recent experience working as a surgical technician in an acute care setting;
  • Current ORT certification;
  • Performs duties in a capacity of “surgical” technician as prescribed by hospital policies and procedures;
  • Knowledgeable of anatomy and physiology.
