Aircraft Mechanic Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Aircraft Mechanic to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Must read, write, speak, and understand English;
- Review work of subordinates to ensure the function/task is correct and complete and take corrective action and/or training if necessary;
- Conduct off‑station maintenance when required;
- May be required to function as Safety/Training/Supply point of contact in the FBO concept at AOS-U or AOS-A site’s;
- Maintain aircraft log books, status reports, historical and administrative data as required;
- May be required to exercise independent judgment and travel or relocate to other geographical locations including foreign countries;
- Perform daily/post‑flight/thru‑flight inspections as required and performs necessary maintenance to correct any malfunctions;
- Other tasks as assigned;
- Safely prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services;
- Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment;
- Performs limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required;
- When required can use Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) for job duties;
- When qualified and when required can perform non-crew member duties;
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned;
- When designated shall obtain DoD EPA Refrigerant Processing Certificate Section 608 Technician Certification (Universal) or Minimum Type II.
Requirements:
- Other duties as assigned;
- Use hand tools, power tools, machines, specific and general aviation test measurement and diagnostic equipment, and sets kits and outfits (SKO);
- Plane Captain;
- Aircraft movement;
- Perform shift work and/or overtime as required;
- Hydraulic Contamination;
- Technical Directive compliance and modifications;
- Support services;
- Must be able to pass employment physicals;
- Aircraft inspections;
- Tire and Wheel;
- Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections;
- Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) for Line, Corrosion Control and Avionics Systems;
- Be 18 years old or older;
- Driver’s License.
