Auto Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Auto Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Replace or repair worn parts as needed;
- Present and explain estimates to complete repairs;
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, checking fluid levels and rotating or balancing tires;
- Examine cars based on customer statements and determine appropriate repairs needed;
- Primary and/or advance fuel ignition and electrical repairs;
- Air conditioning repair and replacement;
- Suspension and alignment;
- Brake and hydraulic repair;
- Computer system diagnosis;
- Diagnose and repair vehicles to manufacturer specifications;
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications;
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment;
- Examine and/or diagnose cars and trucks based on customer statements and determine appropriate repairs needed;
- Mechanic automotive dealer repair service technician ASE;
- Present and explain estimates to complete repairs to the supervisor.
Requirements:
- ASE Certifications strongly considered, and are applicable to BMW Certification levels;
- 1-2 years of hands-on work experience as Automotive Technician in a reputable shop environment;
- Valid Driver’s License in applicable state (or ability to obtain upon relocation) and a good driving record;
- Must be authorized to work in the United States;
- Professional appearance and work ethic required;
- Must have the will to learn;
- Must have professional experience in automotive or diesel repair;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Must have own tools;
- The ability to remove and reinstall engines and/or transmissions;
- Own a wide range of tool to perform automotive repairs on domestic, Asian & European vehicles;
- Maintain clean work area;
- Previous experience as an auto mechanic is a must;
- Valid Driver’s license with good driving record;
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of on the job automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem solving and repair experience.
