Automotive Lube Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Automotive Lube Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Install a new oil drain plug and new oil filter and communicate oil levels to teammates;
- Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles;
- Ensure tire pressure for proper inflation, clean and lubricate fittings as needed;
- Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem;
- Complete work accurately and quickly allowing customers to remain in their vehicles;
- Inspect fluid levels of power steering reservoir and transmission;
- Inspect belts, hoses, and wiper blades;
- Inspect vehicles for additional repairs needed;
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work areaQualifications;
- Advise service consultant/tech for additional work;
- Conduct multi-point inspections to identify needed maintenance;
- Drain motor oil, change oil filter, grease chassis fittings;
- Performs routine service inspections or tests and completes standard maintenance jobs;
- Checks all fluids and maintenance-related parts and tops-off or replaces fluids or filters/parts as required;
- Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules.
Requirements:
- ASE Certification/Technical degree (preferred);
- Automotive dealership experience strongly preferred;
- Knowledge of automotive servicing or repair highly desired;
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance;
- Safety and customer service oriented;
- One year of relevant experience preferred;
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed;
- Must have His/Her own tools and toolbox;
- Drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles preferred;
