Cable Installation Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Cable Installation Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service and support during field visits and tie workflow to schedules to ensure maximum efficiency;
- Diagnose errors and technical problems and determine proper solutions to produce timely and detailed service reports;
- Collaborate with the technical team and share information across the organization to build positive relationships with clients and coworkers;
- Testing newly installed or relocated cables according to company specifications;
- Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations;
- Repairing cable poles and towers;
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing cable infrastructure;
- Installing of cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct;
- Performing maintenance on existing cabling systems;
- Troubleshooting issues with cable network;
- Identifying and removing redundant cabling;
- Installing of televisions, routers and internet technology devices.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of mathematics, science and electrical systems;
- Ability to work at heights;
- Ability to identify independent colors and learn color codes;
- Ability to work in cramped spaces;
- Ability to pass National Background Investigation;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to install complex internet and television equipment;
- Previous work experience as a Cable Technician;
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record;
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and fix any problems that may arise.
