Our company is looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports;
  • Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop;
  • Perform Federal DOT inspections to ensure compliance;
  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments;
  • Operates industrial powered lift truck as required;
  • Drives commercial vehicle waste routes in Ketchikan when needed;
  • Opportunity for overtime weekly;

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Thermo King refrigeration units and auxiliary power units;
  • Examine components and general state of vehicle engine to diagnose issues accurately;
  • Ensure equipment and tools are properly maintained;
  • May be required to operate a company vehicle to diagnose and repair equipment as part of a road-side service call;
  • Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable;
  • Other duties and projects as assigned;
  • Performs daily inspections and repairs on entire fleet.

Requirements:

  • Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop;
  • Experience working with equipment such as: boom lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts;
  • Accuracy;
  • Responsible;
  • Pre-employment test/physical/ background check will help assure we build teams of people who can best work with others and serve customer needs;

  • Excellent reading and writing skills;
  • Reliable;
  • Ability to perform routine and corrective maintenance on pipeline valves and pump station equipment;
  • Hands on with welding, electrical work, and hydraulics;
  • Work experience satisfactory to JFI hiring manager(s);
  • 2+ years working on utility or agriculture vehicles;
  • Ability to maintain parts inventory process;
  • Modern methods, equipment, materials, and tools used in repairing medium and heavy equipment and trucks, and other gas-powered equipment;
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
