Entry Level Automotive Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Entry Level Automotive Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc;
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management;
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins;
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer;
- Sells lubrication, safety inspection, and other related services;
- Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replenishes as necessary;
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts;
- Road-tests vehicles;
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner;
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended;
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order;
- Check tire pressure and add air if needed;
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
Requirements:
- Eagerness to improve;
- Team player;
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds;
- Experience a plus, but will train;
- Ability to speak, read and write English. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable;
- Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license;
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills;
- Possess the energy and drive to accomplish goals, meet deadlines and find solutions;
- Must have no more than two moving violations in the last three years or DUI;
- Requires the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English;
- Ability to work as a team player and interact with customers, managers and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner;
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
