Field Service Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Record accurate and timely documentation of customer complaints and the action taken to resolve the concern;
- Ability to lift and carry items in excess of 50lbs;
- Ensuring the devices have the appropriate programs;
- Represent Exide in a neat and professional manner in accordance with Exide standards;
- You perform onsite services at Esko customers, including;
- Previous domestic and international travel experience is a must;
- Manage all on-site installation, maintenance, repairs and testing tasks to ensure proper documentation of all related processes;
- Modifying PLC Controlled functions using Allen Bradley Platform;
- Diagnoses failed components;
- Compiles parts lists, as needed;
- Working in a team environment to efficiently assembly product;
- Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management;
- Coordinate scheduled preventative maintenance visits with the Field Service Manager, End Customer and Cintas team;
- Provide exceptional customer service;
- Flexible schedule, 24/7 accessibility via phone.
Requirements:
- Truck and diesel engine experience would be considered an asset;
- Availability for overnight travel and extended project work;
- Ability to take initiative and work independently;
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Previous experience in a customer-facing Field Service Technician position is REQUIRED;
- Advanced trouble shooting skills using a laptop, multi-meter and handheld tools;
- Technical Communication;
- Individuals must also be able to safely lift and move up to 70 lbs as well as push and pull 50 lbs of resistance;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Associate’s Degree or Equivalent;
- Oral and written communication skills;
- Able to read street maps;
- Familiarity with pipe and cable locators, maintenance of traffic, survey, or vacuum excavation truck experience a plus;
- Keep inventory of all parts and order when inventory gets low;
- This certification is paid for by the company.
