Field Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Field Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform work under the direct guidance of a Supervisor or Foreman involving the remediation of cleanup regarding hazardous waste and materials;
- Provide customer technical support as needed;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Calibration and IQ/OQ Services at customer onsite;
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on all Warehouse Equipment products;
- Must be able to read instruction manuals, drawings and simple electrical schematics;
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools and electric meters, be familiar with hand tools;
- Locate, and order parts as required. On occasions, this may require you to coordinate with parts-drivers to get the parts you need to your work site;
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas;
- Perform all repairs associated with the diagnosis that is possible out in the field;
- Must be physically able to perform essential duties as stated above;
- Document service processes and field maintenance;
- Willing to work in remote locations and respond to unit call out;
- Follow all HSE filed procedures and protocols;
- Identify proper action with remote technical support.
Requirements:
- Pass the HAZWOPER 40 hour training (provided if necessary);
- Pass the Company’s Auto Insurance Qualifiers;
- MUST BE DEPENDABLE, PUNCTUAL ? the entire crew depends on each individual arriving on time as scheduled. Zero tolerance policy for absences/tardies;
- Must be able to identify and fix certain technical problems out in the field;
- 1 ? 3 yrs experience in maintenance, hydraulics a plus;
- Must be able to pass a drug test;
- Flexibility of hours worked (may sometimes need to report sooner or later depending on business needs);
- Diploma or GED equivalent;
- Oral/Written Communications;
- 480-volt experience preferred;
- Direct experience with PLC’s and ladder logic;
- computer/Software including: MS Office applications, spreadsheets and databases, and plan and/or schematic reading, and;
- perform field work on varying terrain and weather conditions, and;
- Wireless (radio and cellular) and fiber optic communication- such as minimum years of experience;
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
