Our company is looking for a Fire Alarm Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing customer escalations;
  • Attend Weekly Meetings;
  • Complete reports on time, including service paperwork, inventory log, time card and weekly expense reports;
  • Work with local jurisdiction (fire marshal) to ensure code compliance;
  • Perform system inspections, service call, and programming, and on – call for emergency service duties as experience permits;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fire alarm systems;
  • Exhibit excellent customer service;
  • Complete vehicle reports in a timely manner;
  • Read and interpret blueprints;
  • Maintain accurate truck inventory;
  • Provide customer technical support as needed;
  • Read and understand engineered drawings, specifications, programs, schematics, installation manuals, and service manuals;
  • Ensure our customers and end-users have a positive experience working with Mircom;
  • Provide operational training to end-users;
  • Complete and return inspection reports in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail;
  • NICET II or higher (or willing to obtain certification within first year of employment);
  • Mechanically inclined;
  • Electronics diploma or equivalent from accredited college/university or documented and demonstrated trade qualification;
  • NICET Certification in Fire Alarms and S-98;
  • Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel is an asset;
  • Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 70lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding;
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing;
  • Working knowledge of test equipment such as a digital multimeter;
  • Experience working as a fire alarm and security technician for a minimum of 3 years;
  • Electrical construction knowledge and good work ethics;
  • Strong work ethic and integrity;
  • Proficient in the use of personal computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing;
  • Familiar with NFPA codes and standards.
