Our company is looking for a Fleet Mechanic to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Keeps company management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur;
  • Assisting technician mechanics in performing technical activities;
  • Maintains an organized neat and safe vehicle repair bay;
  • Driving of Tractor/Trailers and/or Trucks for purposes of test drives and/or the return of vehicles to the various Shamrock division facilities;
  • Other duties as required;
  • Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform repairs for Heavy Duty Truck Tractors, Trucks and Trailers;
  • Welding and metal fabrication of parts in need of repair;
  • Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts;
  • Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation;
  • Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function;
  • Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment;
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair;
  • Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups;
  • Perform mechanical and electrical trouble shooting and repair of equipment;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations;
  • None required;
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States;
  • If a CDL is a requirement for a specific posting, an applicant must be 21 years of age;
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical;
  • Have an active driver’s license;
  • Be at least 21 years of age;
  • Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing;
  • Provide documentation regarding their previous employment;
  • Obtain a DOT medical certification;
  • Excellent mechanical repair skills;
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair;
  • Class “B” CDL required;
  • Must be reliable and able to work in a team environment;
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
