Our company is looking for a Fleet Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • May be required to operate a company vehicle to diagnose and repair equipment as part of a road-side service call;
  • Complete preventative maintenance and standard vehicle maintence of fleet diesel equipment;
  • Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable;
  • Train other employees, act as a mentor;
  • Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts);
  • May participate in regular meetings with customer;
  • Identifies root cause of failures/conditions and perform repairs as required;
  • Replaces defective components as instructed;
  • Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system;
  • Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision;
  • Install, replace, and repair onboard computers (XRS or XataNet) and/or cameras (Drive Cam);
  • Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed as “roadworthy”
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area;
  • Performs daily inspections and repairs on entire fleet;
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Some travel may be required;
  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Ability to utilize an on board computer and desktop computer. (PC, Windows, Microsoft Programs, etc);
  • Valid CDL (license A) is highly desired; mandatory in some locations;
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations;
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test;
  • ASE Certifications (Including Master Medium- Heavy Truck Technician) (Willingness to acquire);
  • Post- Secondary Vocational Education strongly preferred;
  • Valid Driver’s License to operate applicable company vehicles;
  • Trade school diploma or certification;
  • Commercial driver’s license;
  • Ability to work any schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays;
  • Minimum of 1 year or recent experience working with diagnostic computer;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Must possess own tools (have minimum tool requirement).
