General Service Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a General Service Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Repair flat tires;
- Stock and unload tires;
- Change engine oil and filter;
- Learn how to diagnose and repair basic automotive including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical;
- Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment;
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization;
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship);
- Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store);
- Other duties as assigned;
- Maintain an organized and neat shop;
- Know and adhere to safety and environmental standards for maintenance/repair facilities;
- Possesses an increasingly broad knowledge of how vehicles’ complex components work and interact;
- Drives vehicles in and around the premises as needed;
- Change oil, change/rotate tires, and perform minor maintenance/repair tasks as assigned;
- Adapts to rapidly changing technologies in the automotive industry.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screen;
- Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed;
- Eager to learn and competitive drive to succeed;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- 6 months of relevant experience preferred;
- Willingness to receive instruction and follow rules;
- Able to operate a standard transmission;
- Highly collaborative nature;
- Some training/experience/exposure to the automotive repair business;
- Minimal mechanical tools required;
- An impressive work ethic;
- Affinity for automotive maintenance/repair;
- Current and unrestricted driver’s license.
