IT Tech Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a IT Tech to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance;
- Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards, etc.) to ensure functionality;
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment;
- Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders;
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems;
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work;
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, etc.);
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.).
Requirements:
- Preferred knowledge of NIST 800-53 and/or NIST 800-171;
- Degree in Network and Computer Security, Computer Science or a relevant field;
- Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Security +, CompTIA Network +, Microsoft Certified IT Professional);
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles;
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills;
- In depth knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles;
- Excellent communication ability;
- Preferred knowledge in the following technologies is highly desired: Ansible, VirtualBox, Samba, XenServer, Vagrant, CentOS/RHEL, Shell Scripting;
- 2+ years of proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position.
