Maintenance Technician – 1st shift Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Maintenance Technician – 1st shift to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Performs other related duties as assigned;
- Willing to function as a team member toward the achievement of this company’s goals and objectives;
- Must be capable of adjusting components to obtain and maintain proper performance based on manufacturer and company guidelines;
- Ensures machinery operates efficiently and effectively to meet productivity requirements;
- Manages all required paperwork and records and prepares documentation (forms, reports, etc.) when needed;
- Complete work orders and document activities;
- Maintain a clean work area and practice good housekeeping on a regular basis;
- Actively participate in repairing and communicating safety hazards;
- Respond to all emergency line calls quickly and cooperatively;
- Perform basic mechanical and electrical maintenance repairs;
- Assist in maintaining an environment that ensures employee and food safety;
- Follows all safety policies and procedures;
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks assisted by the supervisor;
- Setup and operate various power tools and equipment;
- Responsible for maintaining and servicing production equipment.
Requirements:
- Strong mechanical skills;
- Hydraulic/pneumatic;
- Troubleshooting Laser, plasma preferred;
- A self-starter who requires little to no supervision;
- Troubleshooting Overhead Crane;
- Strong Mechanical knowledge; Basic Electrical knowledge (must be able to read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints);
- PLC experience;
- Basic PLC knowledge would be a plus;
- Good time management skills;
- Strong analytical and creative thinking skills;
- Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering preferred;
- Proven troubleshooting and maintenance experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, heating and PLC;
- Proficient PC skills including MS Office programs;
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external customers;
- 5-7 years of Industrial engineering experience required, 2 to 3 years experience in a food industry preferred.
