Master Automotive Technician / Mechanic Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Master Automotive Technician / Mechanic to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds;
- Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand-tools;
- Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head;
- Drive manual transmission vehicles;
- Efficiently navigate a computer and tablet;
- Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle’s needed repair;
- Walk/stand for the majority of the workday;
- Address any concerns from customers and interface with them on their vehicle as needed;
- Honestly assess vehicles and build a detailed estimate of necessary repairs;
- Review TSB’s and other service recommendations and translate to customer needs;
- Perform a wide range of automotive repairs;
- Keep shop in clean, working order;
- Communicate cause and correction for customer concerns regarding their vehicle;
- Master MFG level diagnostic tools (MFG scantools and subscriptions provided by CBA);
- Maintain professionalism.
Requirements:
- Good investment in tools;
- Positive attitude;
- Solid Communication Skills;
- Strong diagnostic equipment experience a plus;
- ASE Certifications with A1-A8 or L1 preferred but not required;
- Capable of diagnosing and repairing all makes/models of vehicles;
- Current ASE Certifications preferred, or a plan to achieve while working in our business;
- Ability to Flag 40+ hours per week;
- 5+ years of experience as an automotive technician;
- Prefer experience with all makes and models;
- Able to work a Monday – Friday 7am to 6pm work schedule;
- Desire to serve customers;
- Aptitude for learning additional skills and processes.
