Our company is looking for a Mechanic Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Test drives vehicles to ensure repairs are properly completed;
  • Updates maintenance and repair logs;
  • Assists with inventory maintenance of replacement parts and equipment;
  • Inspects tools and equipment to ensure that they are in working order;
  • Cleans the shop and returns tools to proper locations;
  • Performs other duties as assigned;
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles;
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures;
  • Assists senior technicians in the completion of project work;
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards;
  • Performs minor repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services;
  • Completes required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times;
  • Assists with service calls for breakdowns;
  • Assists in the repair and adjustment of equipment;
  • Performs other maintenance related work as required.

Requirements:

  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach and move as needed;
  • Exposure to gasoline vapors and other mechanics fluids;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Must be at least 18 years of age;
  • 1+ years of experience in heavy equipment or auto repair desirable;
  • Excellent mechanical skills;
  • Ability to multitask and work independently;
  • Must have, or be willing to acquire, a class A driver’s license and must have an insurable driving record;
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs;
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States;
  • Able to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed;
  • Must be able to work in the field, as needed, in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold;
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position;
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
