Plant Maintenance Mechanic Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Plant Maintenance Mechanic to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Housekeeping: General cleanliness and tidiness of the work area(s);
- Other duties as assigned;
- Reporting: Accurate reporting of maintenance work performed and material and parts used on a daily basis and any associated JSA and/or SOP;
- Work safely following all company safety policies, practices, procedures and improvement initiatives;
- Comply with all regulatory compliance requirements regarding environmental, and food/feed safety;
- Maintain a clean work environment to ensure safety and product quality;
- Read and understand warnings, manuals, and wiring schematics;
- Assist other production and maintenance personnel as needed or requested;
- Maintain, repair, and install plant equipment to OEM standards;
- Perform routine preventative equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and service to ensure reliability and equipment uptime;
- Communicate any accidents, threats, downtime, or cost-saving measures to the shift supervisor.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a wet environment with moderate to high noise volume;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Repairs and maintains processing plant as required. Example responsibilities include;
- Ability to conduct pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and vehicles. Ensures proper maintenance and reporting;
- Cut out and replace wear metal liners;
- Ability to understand and operate basic computer systems;
- Mechanically inclined and troubleshooting abilities;
- Replace pillow block bearings;
- Change oils and lubricants;
- Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by PRODUCTION;
- Replace shaft mount gear reducers;
- Remove, remount and align electric motors;
- Repair and replace conveyor idlers and pulleys;
- Operate and work from man lift;
- Boiler experience/certification, desired.
