Refrigeration Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Refrigeration Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Repair damaged HVAC systems;
- Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to increase longevity;
- Perform consultations with customers;
- Inspect current HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety;
- Travel to homes and businesses on a daily basis as scheduled;
- Sell ongoing maintenance contracts to current customers;
- Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources;
- Troubleshoot current HVAC system issues;
- Keep records of customer appointments and payment transactions including invoices;
- performing general housekeeping duties such as cleaning and washing equipment, emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, and waxing machine room floors;
- conducting daily rounds to observe and record temperatures and humidity levels, and making minor adjustments;
- Perform mathematical calculations;
- Identifying, sorting, and organizing refrigerant cylinders post analysis;
- maintaining and operating Industrial Refrigeration systems;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as an HVAC Technician;
- Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants required;
- Previous on the job training a plus;
- Must hold state driver’s license;
- Strong verbal communication skills, ability to explain complex HVAC issues with customers in a way they understand;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Mechanical aptitude;
- Customer relations, interpersonal relationships, team relations and service;
- Willing to be on an emergency on-call standby schedule as created by the Maintenance Manager, to handle emergency calls;
- Basic algebra and ability to calculate percentages and decimals;
- Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDSs);
- Electrical components knowledge is a plus;
- Either 5 years of related experience OR completion of technical school training in the field of HVAC;
- Must have mechanical aptitude;
- Must be available for overtime in emergency situations, and work flexible hours.
