Our company is looking for a Small Engine Mechanic to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products;
  • Performs basic diagnostics and repairs on light construction equipment and turf equipment;
  • Provide over the phone technical assistance;
  • Check in rental fleet machines for damage or missing items;
  • Assist with warehouse responsibilities including receiving and sending pallets;
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment;
  • Track inventory of products;
  • Participate in training sessions for technicians on safe operations of equipment and routine maintenance procedures;
  • Assist Director of Fleet/Equipment in analysis of equipment needs and the development of equipment operating systems;
  • Comply to all safety requirements in shop area pertaining to flammable fluids and tool usage;
  • Complete repairs to vehicles, trailers, and equipment as repair orders process states, in a timely manner;
  • Be available, on call, for emergency field repairs, particularly during snow removal season;
  • Order, update, and stock needed parts inventory to maintain minimum levels per direction of director;
  • Clean equipment with pressure washer;
  • Overhaul and repair electric and fuel system engines.

Requirements:

  • Preferably one year of experience in performing service repairs on mowing equipment and handheld power equipment;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • 1+ Years’ of experience performing service repairs;
  • Leadership/employee management experience;
  • Valid driver’s license required;
  • 1+ Years’ experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or Small Engine Technician preferred;
  • Clean and valid driver’s license;
  • Microsoft Office skills;
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required;
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes;
  • Preferred 3 year of mechanical experience;
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with polygraph;
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical & hydraulic schematics;
  • Must be able to work on several types and brands of equipment;
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
