Our company is looking for a Small Engine Mechanic to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products;
- Performs basic diagnostics and repairs on light construction equipment and turf equipment;
- Provide over the phone technical assistance;
- Check in rental fleet machines for damage or missing items;
- Assist with warehouse responsibilities including receiving and sending pallets;
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment;
- Track inventory of products;
- Participate in training sessions for technicians on safe operations of equipment and routine maintenance procedures;
- Assist Director of Fleet/Equipment in analysis of equipment needs and the development of equipment operating systems;
- Comply to all safety requirements in shop area pertaining to flammable fluids and tool usage;
- Complete repairs to vehicles, trailers, and equipment as repair orders process states, in a timely manner;
- Be available, on call, for emergency field repairs, particularly during snow removal season;
- Order, update, and stock needed parts inventory to maintain minimum levels per direction of director;
- Clean equipment with pressure washer;
- Overhaul and repair electric and fuel system engines.
Requirements:
- Preferably one year of experience in performing service repairs on mowing equipment and handheld power equipment;
- Valid driver’s license;
- 1+ Years’ of experience performing service repairs;
- Leadership/employee management experience;
- Valid driver’s license required;
- 1+ Years’ experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or Small Engine Technician preferred;
- Clean and valid driver’s license;
- Microsoft Office skills;
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required;
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes;
- Preferred 3 year of mechanical experience;
- Must possess an active TS/SCI with polygraph;
- Must be able to read and understand electrical & hydraulic schematics;
- Must be able to work on several types and brands of equipment;
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
