Our company is looking for a Corporate Counsel, Commercial to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Structure, draft, negotiate, and review a range of commercial agreements, including highly complicated and novel agreements;
  • Handle ad-hoc projects across a spectrum of complex business, legal, and strategic issues;
  • Support a very fast paced business with tight deadlines while providing diligent and detailed work product;
  • Develop and implement innovative ways to scale commercial legal processes;
  • Provide legal support to company’s sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, product management, and business development teams;
  • Assisting in other matters such as data and consumer privacy matters, antitrust matters, and securities matters, as appropriate;
  • Work cross-functionally within the company to influence and create actionable initiatives and reduce legal risk;
  • Supporting the Legal team in developing, implementing and enforcing legal and compliance policies;
  • Other relevant duties and tasks as requested or necessary;
  • Creating and maintaining template agreements and refining contract processes and forms.

Requirements:

  • Substantive expertise in intellectual property law;
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and negotiation skills;
  • Sound and practical business judgment;
  • Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude;
  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships with demanding internal clients;
  • Undergraduate degree and a law degree from highly regarded schools;
  • 5+ years handling commercial transactions, in-house and/or at a law firm;
  • Experience drafting software license agreements;
  • Excellent business and legal judgment and the ability to work flexibly with a variety of teams;
  • Inquisitiveness, willingness to learn new things, and ability to take the initiative to solve problems without being explicitly instructed to do so;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and comfort with the uncertainty inherent in building a business;
  • Experience handling commercial contract disputes;
  • Experience working for or with OEM and vehicle-manufacturing companies;
  • JD with outstanding academic credentials and at least one state bar;
  • Experience with other types of corporate transactional documents, such as financing documents and real estate agreements.
