Our company is looking for a Director, Business Affairs to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees third party rights acquisition and license agreement for use in connection with DPEP initiated talent/designer deals;
  • Business Affairs led for PR and Communications teams supporting commercialization;
  • Reviews property and talent rights globally;
  • Serve as contact for all other divisions of TWDC for rights and talent issues related to merchandise and licensing;
  • Analyze, structure and negotiate the merchandise related aspects of non-standard rights acquisitions, talent agreements and distribution agreements;
  • Act as Business Affairs lead on ESPN merchandising, including the structuring and negotiation of on-air talent rights;
  • Communicate, implement, and champion best practices;
  • Work with Risk Management to evaluate production and contract concerns;
  • Draft/review vendor agreements to ensure compliance with Client SOW’s and MSA’s;
  • Be a proponent for the best interest of the company while maintaining client satisfaction;
  • Draft/review client Statement of Works (SOWs) for deliverables, staff plans and production management, creative reviews and general legal call-outs;
  • Advise on and execute Perfect Sense’s business strategy;
  • Advise on and execute Perfect Sense’s business strategy.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and also manage a team;
  • 7 years or more of on point studio media business affairs or legal affairs experience;
  • Solid knowledge of guild and union agreements, contracts and intellectual property law;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, financial analytical skills and verbal and writing skills (discussion, analysis, succinctly summarizing key issues;
  • Knowledge and understanding of digital media initiatives, platforms, products and services;
  • Professional, confident demeanor and a team player;
  • Excel in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment;
  • Ability to strategize and think creatively; strong problem solving skills required;
  • Superior analytical and writing skills and ability, together with strong business and financial acumen;
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Legal and/or Business Affairs in the digital media and/or technology space;
  • Proficient in contract administration and structuring, negotiating and implementing client deals;
  • Strong negotiation skills, both as an individual and with a team.
