Immigration Paralegal Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Immigration Paralegal to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with work visa applications, working closely with US consular offices abroad;
- Preparing business based non immigration applications (H-1B, H-3, TN, E, J-1, L-1 and O-1);
- Responding to RFE’s and other compliance related documents;
- Drafting petition support letters;
- Assisting with special projects as necessary;
- Understand the procedures and documentation required for cases to be filed successfully and following BAL’s service standards;
- Finalize documents after review by Practice Manager, Team Manager and/or Attorney;
- Create mailing labels for packages and track delivery;
- Communicate with attorneys, clients, and consultants on different legal matters;
- Monitor the status of all filed applications and petitions;
- Evaluate cases and assist in providing case strategies and/or solutions to issues;
- Engage in frequent contact with company client(s);
- Other duties as assigned;
- Files and monitors applications and petitions with appropriate government agencies;
- Responsible for working with attorneys in the preparation, filing, and monitoring of various immigration and nationality law matters.
Requirements:
- Excellent listening skills;
- Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and adapt to change and to workload fluctuations in a fast paced environment;
- Good research skills;
- Paralegal experience ranging from entry level to experienced will be considered;
- Able to bend, stoop, kneel and/or stand to access files and documents;
- Able to maintain a sedentary position for up to 90% of the work day;
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Advanced degree or Paralegal certificate a plus;
- Must be eligible to work in the US without need for sponsorship now or at any time;
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision;
- Ability to excel within an extremely high volume environment;
- Ability to make sound judgment calls;
- Able to walk and climb stairs or use elevator to coordinate with other departments;
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a paralegal in a law firm or state/regulatory agencies;
- Ability to meet deadlines and goals;
- Punctual and reliable.
