Our company is looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with and manage outside counsel on an as-needed basis;
  • Some international travel expected;
  • Counsel internal clients on rights, obligations and restrictions under existing agreements and legal risks related to our strategic relationships;
  • Assist with developing and implementing policies and procedures related to the foregoing;
  • Providing legal advice on new products and services;
  • Manage outside counsel;
  • Regular interface with a highly collaborative and interactive legal team;
  • Participate in Risk Reviews according to Company and Business directives and instructions;
  • Develops, implements and maintains legal strategy, standards, directives, policies, procedures and standard contract provisions;
  • Building awareness for the increasing influence and impact of applicable laws, regulations, and policies;
  • Optimization and standardization of standards, directives, policies, and procedures;
  • Coordinate with Legal colleagues in other Businesses;
  • Assist Business colleagues and Head of Legal in cost-effective and timely resolution of business disputes and lawsuits;
  • Draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts;
  • Assist with corporate governance.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years experience at a top law firm and/or in-house environment;
  • English mother tongue level – Required;
  • Work Hours: Monday to Friday, with the ability to work flexible hours;
  • Current state bar membership;
  • Comfortable working independently with clients;
  • Use discretion when administering confidential documents;
  • Flexible attitude in working across multiple time zones;
  • 4-6+ years’ experience at a top law firm with a focus on corporate and M&A transactions;
  • Demonstrated ability to pro-actively seek out creative solutions to problems;
  • Works well under time pressures;
  • Proven ability to independently plan, organize and implement work priorities, and exercise independent judgment, with minimal supervision;
  • Juris Doctorate and admission to Practice Law;
  • Strong research and writing skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills;
  • At least three years proven experience preparing and processing contracts, subcontracts or legal documents is preferred.
