Our company is looking for a Litigation Attorney to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Secure documentation needed to defend claims, which will include the use of PACER;
  • Ability to monitor and assure that litigation holds are being put in place, as required, and released when claims have been resolved;
  • Provide support to outside legal counsel in connection with pending litigation;
  • Work as one company within Elliott Group entities and assist with communications to be provided to Ebara Corporation to provide legal updates;
  • Coordinate legal research, both domestically and globally;
  • Interface with other Legal Department personnel and outside counsel to facilitate activities regarding asbestos defense litigation;
  • Assist with the strategic analysis/planning of the defense of Elliott in anticipated or current litigation;
  • Brief fellow employees on important legal developments;
  • Prepare case documentation including answers, responses and document production replies for litigation matters;
  • Review work product of outside counsel and modify, as needed and required, to appropriately defend Elliott;
  • Work with other Legal Department team members and other corporate teams to develop, coordinate and facilitate trial testimony;
  • Taking and Defending Depositions;
  • Provide other support to the General Counsel, Senior Corporate Counsel and other Legal Department staff members as required.u3000;
  • Arguing motions and presenting cases independently at arbitration and trial;
  • Provide other support to the General Counsel, Senior Corporate Counsel and other Legal Department staff members as required.

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to practice law in North Carolina;
  • Candidates should be well-organized and able to assist with the management of a high volume caseload;
  • Prior insurance defense experience and/or jury trial experience is a plus;
  • At least 3 years of litigation experience;
  • Must be admitted and in good standing with the NY Bar;
  • Minimum professional work experience requirement: Minimum 1 to 3 years of litigation experience with a law firm;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Experience in Document Management;
  • Must be able to work in a legal team atmosphere and must be able to multi-task and manage various types of legal issues;
  • Strong and persuasive written, oral and presentation skills;
  • Strong writing skills;
  • Minimum educational requirement: Doctorate of Jurisprudence from an accredited law school;
