Our company is looking for a Paralegal to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes records and disciplinary files and make recommendations to the attorney as to the disposition of files;
  • Answers inquiries from the public by providing information and guidelines;
  • Telephone answering, filing, typing and other administrative duties; and;
  • Researching cited case law within the briefs and memoranda for validity and applicability;
  • Work with the attorneys to manage debt document databases, including regularly uploading new agreements and ensuring everything is current;
  • Must be able to evaluate investigation materials and draft responses to written discovery;
  • Opening new files and closing old files;
  • Copying, scanning, faxing, filing;
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed;
  • Proficient in scheduling and coordinating depositions, mediations and hearings;
  • Filing documents;
  • Maintain trademark list; coordinates trademark application filing with outside counsel;
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment;
  • Proficient in all aspects of trial preparation;
  • Review title reports and surveys.

Requirements:

  • Skill in meeting and dealing with people in a. courteous and tactful manner;
  • Willingness to assist wherever needed, including administrative tasks;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ legal experience;
  • Ability to consistently solve problems with a high degree of independent decision-making;
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively to all levels of the organization, including Senior Management;
  • Knowledge of NetDocuments;
  • 3 years of applicable legal experience;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at once;
  • Proficient in scheduling and coordinating depositions, mediations and hearings;
  • Ability to effectively organize projects and prioritize workload while paying close attention to detail;
  • Paralegal Certificate;
  • High level of proficiency in basic office software (e.g. Microsoft Office suite; Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, Slack, Carta);
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment;
  • Proficient in all aspects of trial preparation;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience as a paralegal in medical malpractice/nursing home.
