Our company is looking for a Senior Counsel, Privacy to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead outside counsel relationships as necessary;
  • Review products, programs, agreements and initiatives to advise on privacy/data security, consumer protection and content/media laws and regulations;
  • Respond to privacy and security-related customer and regulatory inquiries and investigations on a global basis and draft regulatory filings;
  • Act as subject matter expert and resource on issues related to privacy, security and data protection;
  • Provide legal guidance to internal teams on privacy matters that affect the company, with an eye towards how it impacts the company globally;
  • Work effectively across business units and internal functions to resolve complex business and risk management issues;
  • Draft external privacy notices and disclosures;
  • Establish and manage internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with global laws bearing on privacy and cybersecurity.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated analytical experience, including experience assessing risk from a privacy and data protection perspective;
  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. data privacy and security laws (e.g., CCPA, COPPA, HIPPA);
  • Ability to multi task and to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment;
  • Ability to formulate creative solutions to accomplish business objectives;
  • Law Degree and member of US state bar in good standing;
  • 8+ years total legal work experience, with at least three years at a large law firm advising on data privacy matters;
  • Certifications such as CIPP, CIPM are a big plus.
