Tax Advisor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Tax Advisor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop towards becoming a tax return signer within three years, becoming the lead tax professional for many clients;
- Detailed review of tax returns and communication with initial tax preparers;
- Communicate directly with clients as part of the tax planning and preparation process;
- Initial tax preparation of higher complexity tax returns;
- Perform tax law research as needed to support the team;
- Engage in professional development to maintain licensure and to stay current with our ever-changing tax laws;
- Collaborate extensively with our tax team to best serve our clients.
Requirements:
- Two or more years’ tax return preparation experience in a professional services firm or public accounting firm required;
- CPA license or working towards CPA licensure required;
- Exhibits professionalism including appearance, demeanor, and behavior;
- Masters of Accounting is preferred;
- Proficient in CCH Axcess knowledge is a plus;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to build client relationships, and general consulting skills;
- Computer literate and effectively utilize tax software;
- Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and problem solving skills;
- Strong QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and Excel skills.
