Our company is looking for a Biologist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform established assays: protein and cell binding ELISA, cell-based functional assays;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Evaluate the eligibility of disaster-related damages, facilities, work and costs;
  • Flow cytometry (FACS Canto II); familiarity with FlowJo and GraphPad Prism;
  • Virology experience and tissue microarray experience is a plus;
  • Molecular biology skills including PCR, cloning, transformation, plasmid DNA purification, etc;
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture, transfection/transduction of cells, cell line generation;
  • Human and animal blood processing and isolation of immune cell subsets;
  • Develop, manage and coordinate the natural environment component of projects and programs;
  • Provide input to the career development of more junior staff, including training recommendations, coaching and mentoring;
  • Plan, prepare and review technical reports or portions of larger environmental assessments;
  • Contribute to corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees;
  • Some travel may be required;
  • Lead and mentor project teams, field staff and project managers undertaking renewable energy, oil and gas, and other development projects.

Requirements:

  • Research experience in virology is a plus;
  • Hands on experience with protein and cell ELISA, Flow cytometry (FACS Canto II); FlowJo; GraphPad Prism;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • No convictions or criminal history (including DUIs);
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload;
  • Strong skills and hands-on experience in performing rodent handling, tissue/fluid collection;
  • Master’s Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline;
  • Strong written and visual communications skills;
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a research or commercial laboratory setting;
  • Previous experience in confocal imaging;
  • Familiarity with data analysis software is required (Excel, Prism, SigmaPlot, etc.);
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiasm;
  • Extensive computer skills and experience using image quantification software is highly preferred;
  • Ability to write research reports and to effectively disseminate outcomes.
