Our company is looking for a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory tests, procedures and analyses per the laboratory’s standard operating procedures;
  • Perform, review and document laboratory quality control procedures;
  • Report all concerns of test quality and/or safety to the Laboratory Supervisor or Safety Officer;
  • Review, interpret and report patient results in LIMS;
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department Supervisor / Manager or Lead technologist;
  • Performs QC and calibrations with appropriate frequency and evaluates results to decide whether test should be reported;
  • Adheres to company’s core values, safety, compliance, and Company;
  • Maintains satisfactory results on all department specific competency assessments;
  • Provide technical direction to staff members. May provide feedback to supervisor on individual and/or team learning progress;
  • Meets or exceeds productivity expectations;
  • Consistently and independently performs the more complex level of clinical tests by following department procedures;
  • Advanced knowledge of CAP/CLIA requirements and knowledgeable with the specialty requirements within those organizations;
  • May be delegated the task of training other staff in proper performance of both routine and complex procedures and/or instruments;
  • Works productively and efficiently to achieve company and departmental goals.

Requirements:

  • Excellent practical knowledge about the applications of scientific principles;
  • Excellent analytical abilities and communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Ability to work well in a group as well as carry out individual assignments;
  • Proficient in computer and internet application skills required for the job;
  • Ability to spot mistakes in procedures and report them to supervisor;
  • NYS licensed;
  • ASCP.
