Our company is looking for a Cytogenetic Technologist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Performs complex laboratory procedures, records results, reports abnormal findings;
- Participates in laboratory procedure manual and worksheet creation and revisions;
- Participates in teaching Pathology residents;
- Performs scheduled QC and equipment maintenance according to the laboratory guidelines;
- Maintains complete documentation throughout all the steps of the processes;
- Retrieves/receives specimens and enters patient information in laboratory accessions systems;
- Monitors and updates laboratory supply and reagent inventory;
- Evaluates QC results and initiates corrective action when QC metrics are not acceptable for clinical test performance;
- Trains laboratory staff;
- Able to properly manage time based on established priorities;
- Performs Cytogenetics procedures;
- Participates in reagent/new instrument/assay validations and QC;

Requirements:
- Must satisfy CLIA 88 qualification requirements for testing personnel performing high complexity testing;
- Knowledge of and ability to use automated and conventional laboratory equipment;
- Knowledge of and ability to use laboratory/hospitals information systems;
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with individuals at all levels;
- Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or related field from an accredited college or university;
- At least one year of pertinent cytogenetics laboratory experience preferred.
