EHS Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a EHS Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the Corporate and Platform EHS program and direction; maintains and submits reports as required;
- Assist with the coordination of the Crisis Management Team;
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting, perform other EHS duties as assigned;
- Coordinates/manages emergency management drills and exercises to test orgranizations’ systems and response capabilities;
- Lead and assist with internal audit inspections related to the EHS program requirements for Takeda;
- Ability to develop SOP’s for the organization;
- Participates in EHS/Facility budget preparation and tracking; establishing and monitoring progress toward company goals;
- Provides Leadership in the 5S/4E DBS Tools. Supports all Kaizen’s as it relates to these tools;
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal employees as well as staff from external organizations;
- Manage direct reports, consultants and/or contractors supporting this role;
- Where applicable, establish working relationship with contractor/customer safety committees;
- Facilitates and manages company safety committee and safety improvement teams;
- Is responsible for annual update, distribution, and training of the Emergency Response Procedures;
- Other duties as required and assigned;
- Lead the development of an EHS strategy for Lafayette to ensure continuous improvement and sustainability for all aspects of EHS.
Requirements:
- Excellent written/oral communication skills; able to communicate well with employees relative to EHS issues;
- Continuous professional development by attending EHS professional organization meetings whether local or out of state;
- Familiar with ISO requirements;
- Experienced professional with the ability to manage difficult situations, leverage limited resources and design emergency management programs;
- Travel to satellite locations required (Belmont, N. Reading, and Cambridge);
- Ability to develop SOP’s for the organization;
- Position is located in Lexington, MA;
- Proficient Collaborator: easily partners with and gets things done with and through others;
- Holds peers and site leadership team accountable for performance;
- Inspecting and evaluating the work environment, processes, to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and standards;
- US Citizen;
- Above average computer skills with the ability to proficiently use the Microsoft Office;
- Ability to plan, coordinate, motivate and direct the work of subordinate staff;
- Recommending changes to protect and educate workers on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs;
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills to effectively train, motivate, and communicate with employees, supervisors and customers.
