Our company is looking for a EHS Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new hire safety orientation and training and other safety training from time to time and as needed;
  • Provide leadership to plant associates to incorporate continuous improvement principles and techniques;
  • Report and review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing;
  • Team with Human Resources and Plant Management to administer corrective action;
  • Maintain site EHS SharePoint page;
  • Research and write permit applications / renewals to be compliant with permit reporting requirements;
  • Organize and maintain occupational exposure and industrial hygiene programs on an annual basis, making sure that compliance is being met at all times;
  • Conduct storm water sampling and report to appropriate environmental agency;
  • Facilitate incident investigation process;
  • Perform specific safety training as required by the Safety Manager;
  • Develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA);
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Assist in emergency response, safety response and first aid guidance;
  • Maintain and update SOP’s as deemed necessary for all safe work practices, equipment and ensure implementation and daily practice of the SOP’s;
  • Enter field data into MedGate.

Requirements:

  • Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the work place;
  • Minimum of 1 years in an Environmental Health & Safety ( EHS ) related field or bachelor’s degree in related field;
  • Calm demeanor in emergency situations Basic Qualifications;
  • Prepare and maintain emissions inventory for each emission point in the facility on a monthly basis, if applicable;
  • Conduct storm water sampling and report to appropriate environmental agency;
  • Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud;
  • Organize and maintain occupational exposure and industrial hygiene programs on an annual basis, making sure that compliance is being met at all times;
  • Research and write permit applications / renewals to be compliant with permit reporting requirements;
  • Maintain site EHS SharePoint page;
  • Available to work flexible shifts including days, nights and/or weekends;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time, organization, and project management;
  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on all issues related to the position;
  • Detailed knowledge of essential function and job duties assigned to other EHS positions;
  • In depth knowledge of EHS regulations and regulatory requirements.
