Our company is looking for a Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Communicates and develops environmental, health and safety strategies among the management team and across the business;
  • Investigates near misses and incidents, assessing root cause and working cross – functionally to resolve;
  • Fully responsible for integrating training;

  • The usual: JHAs, JSA, risk analysis, etc;
  • Investigates accidents to ascertain causes in order to develop preventive safety measures and programs;
  • Performs job hazard analysis to identify loss potential of our systems and processes;
  • Manages PPE, Safety and Environmental programs;
  • Develops, publishes and raises general level of awareness of safety and environmental programs consistent with regulations and company policy;
  • Monitors and evaluates security officer performance on key security issues and programs, recommends correction action programs where appropriate;
  • Overall responsibility is to lead program improvements related to the safety program, environmental compliance, safety training and site security;
  • Maintain plant Material Safety Data Sheets program and facilitate development of programs that empower employee participation in all areas;
  • Responsible for conducting site reviews, writing audit/review reports, review findings and making recommendations to line management;
  • Assume the lead role on all third party certification audits.

Requirements:

  • Able to prepare, read and interpret written reports, instruction, procedures and guidelines;
  • Sound knowledge of OSHA regulations, Workers’ Compensation, and other related legislation;
  • Assist in accident investigations, root cause analysis, and system data entry;
  • Performance of other duties and responsibilities as required by management;
  • Preferred Masters degree in Risk Management, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field;
  • Preferred EHS relational skills a nd certificates (PE);
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Able to use computer and software as required.
