Our company is looking for a Environmental Scientist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions;
- Formulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendation;
- Requires general familiarity within a broad field of scientific knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields;
- Detects problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc;
- Develop SPCC and PIPP documentation for a wide range of industrial clients;
- Willingness to understand and build process flow diagrams to determination point of generation for waste streams;
- Responsible for quality control of all work products and products of technical and administrative staff assigned;
- Review all monitoring reports and environmental plans;
- Develop and demonstrate ability to analyze field and technical data;
- Knowledgeable in NPDES rules and regulations, specifically related to storm water management and pollution prevention;
- A willingness to travel within the northeast is preferred;
- Can assist with a large spectrum of environmental compliance needs;
- Perform operation and maintenance on remediation systems under supervision of senior staff;
- Be primary point of contact with the waste screening protection program;
- Assist in preparing remediation and construction plans and specifications and cost estimates.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) process;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Five to 10 years of experience in related fields;
- Describe your experience in enforcement;
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients;
- verbal and written communication aptitudes;
- Passing Engineering Intern (EI) test is strongly recommended;
- Describe your experience in evaluating and implementing accreditation standards;
- Describe your experience in conducting training and/or giving presentations;
- Describe your experience in analyzing and using environmental data;
- Compilation and analysis of water sampling data;
- CHMM, CHMP or CHP certifications preferred;
- soil, rock and water (surface and groundwater) sampling;
- Writing, compilation, and management of surface mining, NPDES, and other regulatory permit application projects.
