Our company is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform specific gravity checks;
  • Use Lab Equipment to prep samples (Jaw Crusher and Riffle Splitter);
  • Maintain sample storage;
  • Clean up work area;
  • Production of highly precise analytical wet chemical laboratory measurements;
  • Analysis of grape and fermentation samples;
  • Chemical handling;
  • Prepare grape, fermentation, drain, press, and wine samples;
  • May work directly with external and internal customers in answering technical questions;
  • Prepare and conduct lab testing for finished products, raw materials, trial products, as well as environmental samples;
  • Assists with experimentation and research activities;
  • Record and communicate lab results to the plant management team;
  • Completes projects by assisting project team and attending and participating in group and project meetings;
  • Assist with training of new team members as needed;
  • Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 45 pounds;
  • Willingness to respond to changing priorities with eagerness;
  • Conform to all requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • General knowledge of chemistry and chemical processing/refinement techniques;
  • BS or MS in a life science area;
  • Employment Type: Up to 6-month contract with possibility to go perm;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong mathematical skills;
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload;
  • Basic computer knowledge (Word and Excel) and skills in lab information systems is desirable;
  • Strong PC skills includes MS office programs;
  • Location: Kansas City, MO;
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
