Mass Spectrometry Scientist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Mass Spectrometry Scientist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute and develop quantitative workflows;
- Some travel required;
- Daily operation and support of LC-MS systems in the lab;
- Develop and publish application notes, generate and deliver scientific material for internal and external distribution;
- Demonstrate competency in troubleshooting, optimization and implementation of challenging and innovative LC-MS/MS assays;
- Perform LC-MS workflow including sample preparation, method development and execution, data acquisition and analysis, and report writing;
- Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures and contribute to validation protocols, reports and bioanalytical reports.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in method development and troubleshooting;
- MS and 3 years of experience in LC-MS;
- Familiarity with metabolite identification and profiling studies;
- Hands-on experience with chromatographic separation of various analytes by LC and characterization and quantification by MS or MS/MS;
- Familiarity with basic pharmacokinetic data analyses;
- Experience with Automation;
- Proficiency with mass spectrometry software as well as spreadsheet, word processing, and graphical computer programs;
- Industry experience;
- Degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry or similar Life Science PhD and 0 years of experience in LC-MS;
- Knowledge of chromatographic assay validation guidelines and GLP regulations;
- Small/large-molecule mass spectrometry experience;
- BS and 5 years of experience in LC-MS.
