Our company is looking for a Medical Technologist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs quality control, equipment maintenance and calibration as required;
  • Maintains and monitors required records and files, written or electronic;
  • Collecting and studying blood samples to determine morphology;
  • Accepts, verifies and processes incoming blood and blood components or samples of the same;
  • Cross-matching blood for transfusions;
  • Proactively informing Customer Service of any issues which may cause late results;
  • Responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing for all patient types in a timely, efficient and accurate manner;
  • Accurately documenting all assay components for maximum sample and run traceability;
  • Collects and processes specimens;
  • Performs waived, moderate and high complexity tests in accordance with state, federal and other regulatory requirements;
  • Overseeing technical aspects of assigned assays and the work of other technologists on those assays;
  • Ordering and maintaining supplies required for assigned tests;
  • Operating all laboratory equipment and software according to approved procedures;
  • Leading and participating in project based and improvement work;
  • Day Shifts Monday- Friday!.

Requirements:

  • NYS licensed;
  • Skill in identifying and resolving technical problems;
  • Ability to organize work for timely completion;
  • Age Specific Competence Requirement: Specimens are obtained from infants, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults;
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or a related science (i.e., Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.);
  • Graduation from an accredited MLT/MT program;
  • Certification by one of the following accreditation agencies: MT (ASCP), MLS(ASCP) or categorical, MT(NCA), MT(AMT), MT(HHS or HEW);
  • Interpersonal skill necessary to deal courteously and effectively with administration, peers and the public;
  • Perform routine laboratory equipment maintenance;
  • ASCP, CLS or equivalent preferred, or must be obtained within one year of hire;
  • Strong critical thinking skills;
  • ASCP Preferred;
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist in a hospital laboratory is preferred;
  • Florida State Licensure as a Medical Technologsit in all Laboratory areas is required;
  • Bachelor’s degree.
