Our company is looking for a Microbiologist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Special testing in support of laboratory investigations;
  • Reporting of results generated during testing;
  • Special testing in support of method and/or process validation activities;
  • Basic microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process, finished product, and stability samples; and environmental monitoring;
  • Adherence to policies of EHS – Safety in the laboratory and proper handling of chemicals and laboratory waste;
  • Routine microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process, finished product, and stability samples;
  • Maintenance of laboratory chemicals and supplies including organisms;
  • Ability to serve as backup support for microbiological testing activities as needed;
  • Draft test methods and report results in accordance with company policies;
  • Write or review deviation investigation reports;
  • Participates in investigations, and CAPA implementation. Participates in resolution of microbiological excursions;
  • Supports manufacturing and validation activities including Aseptic Process Simulations/Validations and Cleaning Validations as needed;
  • Establish and manage relationships with equipment vendors and contract laboratories;
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
  • Develop, validate and perform microbiological and sterility tests on a wide variety of products.

Requirements:

  • Vacuum Oven;
  • Microscope;
  • BS or BA in Microbiology or related science;
  • Microsoft Access;
  • Ability to wear respirator when required;
  • Capable of effective written and verbal communication;
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects;
  • Bachelor’s degree, in Microbiology or Biology preferred;
  • BS/MS in Microbiology or Medical Technology;
  • 2 to 5 years hands-on experience in performing microbiology in a cGMP environment;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel);
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite;
  • Basic understanding of chemistry and microbiology;
  • Minimum of one year of environmental monitoring, testing, and investigational experience is required;
  • Strong written and oral communication, organization, and time-managements skills are required.
