Our company is looking for a Psychologist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Determining if somebody needs to be placed on suicide observation status;
  • Evaluating inmates to determine whether they have a mental illness;
  • Performing rounds in the segregation unit;
  • Communicates complex/sensitive information to patients and medical team;
  • Participates in gatekeeper training and other outreach activities;
  • Strive to achieve the best patient and family centered care;
  • Conducts evaluations to assess the treatment needs of patients that request or desire mental health services within the jail setting;
  • Demonstrate ability to identify ethical dilemmas and consult with appropriate resources;
  • d)Provide these services for urgent/ emergent care as necessary;
  • Recommends special housing or special watch and/or observations to security based on clinical findings;
  • Provides consultation to deans and other campus staff concerned about specific student problems;
  • Conducts couple therapy;
  • Serves on the trauma support team or the multidisciplinary eating disorders team or the Behavioral Health team;
  • Conducts intakes, evaluations, and /or assessments for patients referred by Security, Healthcare staff, and other Community sources;
  • Patient Care Services Provide patient care services for which he/she is clinically privileged, including but not limited to.

Requirements:

  • Provides appropriate mental health assessments, counseling and confrontation avoidance interventions to address the needs of inmates in crisis;
  • Three or more years working in the mental health and chemical dependency field;
  • Experience in psychological testing and assessment;
  • Two years freedom from chemical use problems;
  • Provides training and supervision to psychology fellows;
  • Demonstrated experience in the assessment and management of suicidality and crisis intervention;
  • Some evening and limited on-call hours required;
  • Participates in gatekeeper training and other outreach activities;
  • Multicultural competency;
  • Skill at assessments and crisis management;
  • Facilitates therapy groups and/or, psychoeducational workshops;
  • Doctorate Degree (PsyD or PhD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology;
  • Conducts couple therapy;
  • Clinical care management in a residential setting and ability to work with an inter disciplinary team preferred;
  • Serves on the trauma support team or the multidisciplinary eating disorders team or the Behavioral Health team.
